"Don't play the adamant, don't be so arrogant, can't you see I'm falling for you?"
So there's this song by Shakira called Hey You, and it's not sung very well or anything. But there's this old-world finger-clicky big-band jazz feel to it, the instruments rise and fall. The kind of song I'd want to sing in the back of a smoky club with a band behind me, a pianist in a fedora, with a slim cigarette in his mouth.
You know what another awesome album would be? Phrazes for the Young by Julian Casablancas. Trippy beats and a mellow mellow voice. It sounds old and new at the same time. Old voice and some of the guitar bits are decidedly Queen-ish sounding, but then he goes and does all this synthesizer stuff and I'm like, dude, what the hell? Stop messing with my head.
You are exactly what a person(aka me) needs when they feel phatooey.
